Comparison with Previous Years: NLSAT 2025 was more approachable than 2024, and had a style closer to 2023.

Part A
General Knowledge, Critical Reasoning, and English Comprehension
Level: Easy to Moderate
Nature: 8 Reading Comprehension Passages
25 Current Affairs Questions were spread across 8 reading passages.
Topics were drawn from January–March 2025 events.
Passage Topics:

Elections and Democracy
Public Interest Litigations (PIL) in the Supreme Court
Pakistani Biryani and Cross-cultural Influences
Regulation of Competitive Examinations

Key Highlights:
Specific questions included a reference to the Paris Olympics, the Collegium System, and the Shreya Singhal Case through a modern verdict.
Observation:  
1) The GK questions were highly relevant and contemporary. Students who regularly read newspapers like The Hindu and The Indian Express found this section extremely approachable.
2) English Reading Comprehension emphasized comprehension skills and Contextual Vocabulary focused on word meaning in context.
3) Critical Reasoning questions on Strengthening and Weakening arguments, drawing Inferences were clear and unambiguous, ideal for students with consistent critical reasoning practice.
Safe Score Range: 62–65 marks
Note: Time management was crucial because of the length of the passages.


Part B Overall Difficulty Level: Moderate
Part B: Case Studies
5 case studies with 12 marks each, testing clear application of basic legal and ethical concepts.
Cases:

International law – prosecuting another country based on suspicion
Privacy breach – a bank posting a customer's daughter's photograph while handling sensitive financial documents
Vicarious Liability - Food truck accident legal liability of West Bengal worker
Observation:
Students with strong fundamentals in torts, privacy law, and basic constitutional principles have an advantage to perform well.
Analytical Essay
15 marks
Essay Topics (Choose 1 out of 3):
1) Should social media be banned for minors?
2) Should the Three Language Formula be mandated across India?
3) Should women be compensated for domestic work?

The NLSAT 2025 exam reinforced the importance of staying updated, reading widely, and thinking clearly. Candidates who practiced consistently, managed their time wisely, and kept up with national and international events were well-positioned to succeed.
